Ismet Bajramović re-elected President of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of BiH

Ismet Bajramović has been re-elected President of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of BiH. At the 13th Congress of the Federation, which concluded a few moments ago at the "Saraj" hotel in Sarajevo, he received the largest number of votes out of a total of 124 delegates who voted.

Candidates for the President of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of BiH for the next, four-year term, besides the current president Bajramović, were also the Vice-President of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of BiH Salih Kruščica and the candidate of the Union of Police Trade Unions of FBiH Nedžib Đozo.

Speaking about the current situation in the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of BiH, as well as about the overall society in BiH, the new-old president stated that "society has fallen into a severe crisis, and everyone must get involved in its rescue, especially the trade unions."

- We no longer have a single activity; economic, service, budgetary, in which there are no problems, in which workers' rights are not violated, and in which attempts are not made to take away even what we currently have – said Bajramović. He added that during the mandate that is now behind him, there were mistakes, and he is aware that the practice and methodology of the Federation's work must be changed and strengthened as much as possible in the coming period.

Bajramović called for strengthening unity in all trade union organizations in BiH.

- If we do not stimulate the economy and if we do not protect our rights, we will have to repay our debts by selling our natural resources, as some other countries have had to do. Ultimately, we will become slaves in our own country – said Bajramović.
