Islamic Community: All domestic and international actors should take the threats expressed in the RSNA seriously

(Patria) - The messages from yesterday's session of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity of RS are a cause for concern and a serious threat to peace and the constitutional order, causing unrest among the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, including members of the Islamic Community.

"The blackmailing stances have clearly revealed the separatist intentions and actual policy of the representatives of the authorities in this part of Bosnia and Herzegovina," states the press release from the Public Relations Office of the Riyasat of the Islamic Community.

The Islamic Community in Bosnia and Herzegovina views with concern the renewed denial of the Srebrenica genocide, outbursts of hatred, insults, and Islamophobia by representatives of the ruling coalition in the RS entity.

"The publicly stated claim by the president of the RS entity that 'Muslims' can live on 25 percent of the territory is a renewed call for so-called ethnic cleansing and the final realization of the genocidal intent to destroy an entire people in a part of the territory where they have always lived. Linking individuals who have no connection with official religious institutions and labeling them as radical religious figures, as done in her address by a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, is merely a continuation of a hate-blinded malicious propaganda campaign that has for years tried to portray Bosniaks as radicals," the statement says.

It adds that this campaign has long been seen through, and that not only has it yielded no results, but it has led the RS entity into even greater international isolation, and threatens to undermine the already fragile relations between peoples and religious communities.

"All domestic and international actors should take the threats expressed in the RS Assembly seriously and ensure that any adventurism that could undermine peace and stability or again endanger the surviving victims of genocide is not allowed," the statement concludes.
