Islamic Community: Support for the faithful of the Serbian Orthodox Church

VISOKO, (Patria) - Following the arson of the interior of the Orthodox Church of the Nativity of the Most Holy Mother of God in the Visoko neighborhood of Čekrekčije, which occurred on Saturday night, the Islamic Community also issued a statement, strongly condemning this act of vandalism.

“We demand from the competent authorities to conduct an investigation that will lead to the identification of the perpetrator. In case the criminal act was committed out of hatred, we expect the competent police and judicial authorities to process the case accordingly and adequately punish the perpetrators,” stated today the Public Relations Office of the Riyasat, along with words of support for the Orthodox faithful and clergy of the Serbian Orthodox Church.

“Once again, we express our support for the faithful and clergy of the SOC, hoping that this and similar attacks will not discourage them in preserving their faith and tradition,” the Islamic Community said, as reported by the Patria agency.
