(Patria) - The activity and campaign "Life is at Stake", which last year pushed boundaries and broke all records for preventive screenings of the most common forms of cancer in the Canton of Sarajevo, continues this year. Contracts were signed today with healthcare institutions that will perform the screenings.
Within this campaign, 6,117 free screenings have been provided for the residents of the Canton of Sarajevo.
"Life is at Stake again this year" is a new initiative by the Ministry of Health of KS for all persons residing in this canton. 6,117 screenings have been provided through a public call by the Ministry of Health, where healthcare institutions competed with the lowest prices, thus increasing the planned number of 4,286 screenings by 1,831.
Five institutions met the price criteria:

How to secure a free screening and who can get one?
You need to register via the website www.zivotjeupitanju.ba, which will be active from September 1st, and provide your details if you meet the following conditions for the screening:
- Cervical cancer: women aged 25 to 65
- Colorectal cancer: women and men aged 50 to 75
- Breast cancer: women aged 40 to 65
- Melanoma: no age restrictions
You can register for multiple different screenings with one personal identification number, but only once for a specific screening, regardless of whether you register at multiple clinics. For example, if you register for a preventive skin screening at one clinic, you will not be able to re-register for the same screening at another clinic, but you can register for another preventive screening (colorectal, breast, or cervical cancer).
After registering, you will receive a return email confirming your successful registration, after which you will be contacted by the clinic you registered with, and informed about the location and time of your appointment.
The Minister of Health of KS, Prof. Dr. Haris Vranić, invited citizens to take advantage of the free screenings offered by the Ministry of Health starting September 1st.
“I am happy that we have continued our life-saving project this year as well. Register, because this year too, LIFE IS AT STAKE!”, Minister Vranić stated.
