Išerić: Hamas's attack must be condemned, but no one should approve of what Israel is doing!

By Enver Išerić

Israel announced a total blockade of the Gaza Strip after the outbreak of conflict. They announce they will cut off supplies of food, water, and electricity to the area. In addition, as they themselves show footage, they are indiscriminately bombing and destroying this area.

This means conditions are being created that lead to the complete or partial destruction of an ethnic group. Because without food, water, electricity, and gas, people will die. If we add to this the mass bombings of populated areas, it is certain that there will be partial or complete destruction of an ethnic group. This constitutes genocide.

This also follows from the definition of genocide, adopted by the United Nations:

Genocide means any of the following acts committed with intent to destroy, in whole or in part, a national, ethnical, racial or religious group, as such:

(a) Killing members of the group;

(b) Causing serious bodily or mental harm to members of the group;

(c) Deliberately inflicting on the group conditions of life calculated to bring about its physical destruction in whole or in part;

(d) Imposing measures intended to prevent births within the group;

(e) Forcibly transferring children of the group to another group.“

And all of this is happening with the announcement, and even approval, of a large part of the international community. Hamas's attack must be condemned, but no one should approve of what Israel is doing.

Therefore, the United Nations General Assembly must react urgently and finally resolve this issue in a just manner, in accordance with the UN Charter and Security Council resolutions.

If you are unable to do so, then pass a decision on self-dissolution. Because an international organization that has been unable to resolve an international dispute for 75 years should not exist.

Bosnia and Herzegovina has done a lot for Jews throughout history. It protected their rights and their lives. Especially during World War II, when the Holocaust was carried out against them. Genocide was carried out against Bosniaks. Therefore, we feel called upon to urge the international community to prevent genocide and mass killings of any people, anywhere. It is particularly shocking that this is being done by a people who themselves suffered the Holocaust.
