Isak files criminal complaint against Milovan Bjelica for glorifying war criminal Radovan Karadžić

(Patria) - Federal Minister of Internal Affairs Ramo Isak today filed a criminal complaint with the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina against the Mayor of Sokolac Municipality, Milovan Bjelica, for glorifying war criminal Radovan Karadžić.

The complaint was filed in accordance with the Law on Criminal Procedure of Bosnia and Herzegovina and due to the existence of reasonable suspicion that the Mayor of Sokolac Municipality, Milovan Bjelica, by his publicly expressed views, committed the criminal offense of "Inciting national, racial and religious hatred, discord and intolerance," which is punishable under the provisions of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Minister Isak stated in the criminal complaint that the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina clearly stipulates that anyone who glorifies, in any way, a person convicted by a final verdict for genocide, crimes against humanity, or war crimes, will be punished with imprisonment of at least three years, and specifically pointed out that these are criminal offenses within the jurisdiction of the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"Actions glorifying war criminals, in addition to being a criminal offense punishable under the provisions of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina, cause damage to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, relations among peoples, and especially cause immense pain to the families of genocide victims," Minister Isak stated in the criminal complaint.

Minister Isak requested that the Prosecutor's Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina immediately and without delay consider the complaint filed against the Mayor of Sokolac Municipality, Milovan Bjelica.

Let us remind you, the Mayor of Sokolac, Milovan Bjelica, one of the leaders of the SDS, stated that Radovan Karadžić, a convicted war criminal, is still the president of Republika Srpska for him.

Glorifying war criminals, in addition to being scandalous and shameful, has been a criminal offense in BiH for two years.
