Isak: I will not stop until all criminals end up in prison

(Patria) - Federal Minister of Internal Affairs Ramo Isak has declared war on criminals, telling them he will not back down. He emphasizes that in the coming period, all individuals suspected of supporting the perpetrator of the Gradačac murders on social media will be investigated. He points out that all departments will work on prosecuting such individuals, and for such purposes, all departments under his jurisdiction, as well as equipment capable of identifying such persons, have been engaged.

"I will not stop, and as long as I am minister, I will work to ensure all criminals end up in prison. As for Ramo Isak, all criminals are at war with him. Ramo Isak will not back down," Isak said.

"From the moment we received the order from the Prosecutor's Office, we took all measures. The video was immediately removed," said Ramo Isak, Minister of Internal Affairs of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as a guest on the new episode of the show "Jutro za sve" (Morning for All), referring to yesterday's multiple murders in Gradačac where 35-year-old Nermin Sulejmanović killed three people, wounded three others, and finally committed suicide.

Regarding why the perpetrator's video remained public for longer, Isak states that they could not react earlier without an order from the competent authorities.

"There was a time difference. We could not do it until we received the order. We received an oral order from the Prosecutor's Office, which means that until you receive the order, you cannot do anything. We must speak objectively - the Prosecutor's Office is conducting the investigation, the Prosecutor's Office is in charge of everything. From the moment we received the order, we took all measures. The video has been removed."

He believes that one can always react better and more effectively in these cases.

"Anyone who says they can't... This situation caught everyone off guard, from the Prosecutor's Office to all authorities. The coordination was likely at a high level. The Federal Police Administration (FUP) immediately made all necessary resources available from the moment they received the information, starting with the Department for Cybercrime, Forensics which solved murders in Serbia, one of the highest quality and best, the Special Police, and even a helicopter in case of inaccessible areas. We did everything within our jurisdiction."

He believes that the prosecutor is conducting the investigation in the right direction, but also that this is the worst outcome that could have happened.

"Everything was done with quality. Could it have been prevented? Nobody knows. That would be an unserious statement from me. I worked in criminal police and similar departments, but there were no cases like this. This is the worst that could have happened. For me, a criminal is someone who commits criminal acts and someone who supports it. I do not allow that," Isak stated, adding that there is a shortage of 2,000 police officers in the Federation of BiH - at a minimum.
