Isak does not know when the Independent Board will be appointed to conduct the tender for the Director and Deputy Director of the FUP

(Patria) - Minister of Internal Affairs of FBiH Ramo Isak does not know when the Parliament of the Federation of BiH will appoint the Independent Board that conducts the procedure for electing the Director and Deputy Director of the Federal Police Administration.

"The Parliament of the Federation of BiH needs to appoint the Independent Board. As soon as they appoint the IB, we will give consent for them to announce the tender. They will be appointed," Isak told BHT's Morning Program.

However, what Minister Isak did not say is that the Joint Working Group of the Election and Appointment Committee of both houses of the Parliament of the FBiH has never been constituted, even though members from both houses were elected in January of this year.

In January, the then Minister of Internal Affairs Aljoša Čampara sent a letter to the heads of both houses of the Parliament of the FBiH. He warned about the urgency of action due to accumulated problems in the work of the FUP.

Even if the committee were to be constituted now, it is first necessary to announce a tender for the members of the Independent Board. After the IB is elected, only then is the tender for the Director and Deputy Director of the FUP announced.

The new coalition forming the FBiH Government and the parliamentary majority clearly cannot agree to respect legal provisions.

Thus, the FUP has been without parliamentary oversight for over a year, and this could last for several more months unless HDZ BiH decides otherwise. It explicitly demanded the position of FUP Director from the 'trojka' parties, as well as the employment of more Croats in the FUP and FMUP.

The FUP has been managed for months by Vahidin Munjić, whose acting mandate the FBiH Government keeps extending.
