Isak contacted Karan: Unacceptable mistreatment of BiH citizens for carrying the lily flag in Banja Luka

(Patria) - Federal Minister of Internal Affairs Ramo Isak contacted his RS counterpart Siniša Karan regarding information that RS Ministry of Internal Affairs police officers mistreated BiH citizens who were on an excursion to Banja Luka to mark BiH Statehood Day, carrying the flag of the state of BiH under which our country was admitted to the UN.

Isak asked Minister Karan to verify media reports and take measures and actions within his jurisdiction to ensure peaceful stay for all BiH citizens in the RS entity.

"I contacted Minister Karan because any mistreatment and harassment of our citizens is unacceptable, especially because they are carrying the flag of the state of BiH and the flag with lilies. Bosnia and Herzegovina is an internationally recognized state that was admitted to the UN with the flag of six lilies," Isak stated.

He also announced that he will seek the determination of any criminal and disciplinary responsibility of police officers found to have exceeded their authority.

"Even court rulings in Banja Luka, such as the acquittals in the absurd case against Sejfullah Tokić, are apparently not enough reason for RS Ministry of Internal Affairs police officers to change their behavior," Isak stated in his reaction.
