(Patria) - Member of the Assembly of Sarajevo Canton (KS) Irfan Čengić addressed the public via his Facebook profile, stating that today he is concluding his mandate in the KS Assembly, where he represented citizens for a year.
"In that year, I managed with my colleagues to realize many activities I had promised, such as increasing the budget for sports and culture, the budget for equipping the Ministry of Internal Affairs, investing in green policies, new investments in transport infrastructure, care for persons with disabilities, public-private partnerships, assistance to other municipalities in FBiH...
I am grateful to the people for entrusting me with their confidence in the elections a year ago. I strived through my actions in the KS Assembly to preserve the dignity of the people I represent and did not participate in any inappropriate events in the KS Assembly, which were frequent in this mandate as well.
When voting on the election of the new KS Government, I clearly stated that I expect support for the Municipality of Stari Grad Sarajevo.
This is not deserved by me as mayor, but by the people of Stari Grad because they pay above-average income tax per capita, and it would be fair to have support for projects in that proportion," Čengić stated.
