IRAN, (Patria) - Ahead of the funeral of Iran's top general Qasem Soleimani in his hometown of Kerman, a stampede occurred in which 35 people were killed and around 200 were injured. Hundreds of thousands of Iranians gathered for the final farewell.
The Iranian general was killed on Friday in a US drone strike in Iraq, after which relations between Iran and the US, as well as Iraq and the US, deteriorated, with foreign troops withdrawing from Iraq. The Green Zone in Baghdad, which houses the US embassy and other embassies, was twice hit by rocket attacks.
