Inzko in Vienna: Leaders in BiH must turn to the future

High Representative Valentin Inzko met today in Vienna with the President of Austria, Alexander Van der Bellen, whom he informed about the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the challenges related to the implementation of the Dayton Peace Agreement.

“The authorities in BiH need to make the necessary efforts to accelerate the pace of urgently needed reforms. Elected officials and governments should focus on a future-oriented policy and on issues that are important for the country's future, such as European integration, economic growth, strengthening the rule of law, and the fight against corruption,” stated the High Representative.

The High Representative expressed gratitude to President Van der Bellen for the continuous support that Austria provides to Bosnia and Herzegovina, as well as for the support to the efforts of the international community to ensure the implementation of both the civilian and military aspects of the Dayton Peace Agreement.
