The Office of the High Representative has received a large number of postcards, with the SNSD logo on the front, calling on the High Representative to leave Bosnia and Herzegovina. Some of these postcards only express the political views of the citizens who sent them, reports the BiH news agency Patria.
Regarding these postcards, High Representative Valentin Inzko clearly stated:
- Everyone has the right to their opinion, and I will defend that right, even when the statements are directed against me personally.
Unfortunately, some postcards contain offensive text, and even death threats. In this regard, it should be noted that death threats are a criminal offense and that postcards of such content will be handed over to the competent authorities. It is clear to us that the postage for all these postcards was prepaid, and we assume that the postage was paid by SNSD, which raises the question of the party's role in sending death threats.
- I assume that SNSD finds it convenient to use the tactic of redirecting the frustrations of citizens dissatisfied with the current economic situation in Republika Srpska from the authorities led by SNSD to me personally, but they will not succeed in this. Citizens in Republika Srpska are well aware of who is responsible for the situation in Republika Srpska after ten years of SNSD rule - said the High Representative.
With over 135,000 unemployed in Republika Srpska and thousands of families living in poverty, SNSD has shown a lack of understanding of the reality faced by ordinary citizens of Republika Srpska by deciding to spend funds on cheap tricks like this, instead of using that money to help those most in need.
- As the new year has just begun, I think it would be better to spread cooperation and love instead of hatred - concluded the High Representative.
