Inzko calls on leaders in FBiH to unblock Parliament's work

High Representative Valentin Inzko met today in Sarajevo with the leadership of the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH, Patria reports.

“For several months, the work of both houses of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH has been blocked due to a lack of consensus on certain legislative issues, and today I called on the Parliament leadership to intensify efforts and resolve disputes over specific matters, and to ensure that any future disagreements do not block the Parliament in addressing numerous serious and long-unresolved legislative challenges,” said the High Representative.

“My message is short: the Parliament should start functioning at full capacity. I call on political leaders in FBiH to unblock the work of this institution.”

He added that the situation in FBiH will be one of the topics discussed at the upcoming meeting of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council next week, the OHR announced.
