Inzko invited investors: BiH is a country of genuine business opportunities and needs partnership

The political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina is full of challenges, but the rewards for overcoming obstacles are great, and the international community is committed to helping citizens overcome these obstacles, said High Representative Valentin Inzko today, the OHR announced, writes the Patria News Agency. 

He added that citizens in Bosnia and Herzegovina want prosperity, security, and European integration, "and politicians who would try to stand in the way of that are like King Canute trying to stop the tide."

The High Representative addressed the participants of the Seventh Economic Forum of Central and Eastern Europe, held in the Austrian city of Velden, where he described Bosnia and Herzegovina as "a country that offers genuine business opportunities," and which now needs "practical partnership in trade and investment."

He reminded investors of Bosnia and Herzegovina's proximity to the European Union market, its educated and qualified workforce, favorable fiscal policy with one of the most modern and efficient indirect taxation systems in Southeast Europe, and other advantages that this country has to offer.

"Now that Bosnia and Herzegovina has taken a key step, which is applying for EU membership, we are on the right track," said the High Representative. "This is a path that opens up opportunities for BiH citizens, and opportunities for prospective partners from abroad who are considering doing business in Bosnia and Herzegovina. What BiH citizens need is partnership. They need practical partnership in trade and investment."
