Inzko sends message to BiH citizens: This crisis can be overcome

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - High Representative Valentin Inzko fully supports the coordinated activities of all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina aimed at preventing the further spread of the COVID-19 virus in BiH. The High Representative is convinced that the authorities will take additional measures, and further strengthen cooperation and coordination if the situation on the ground requires it.

“It is encouraging to see that all levels of government – state, entity, cantonal, and municipal, from the state Presidency and Council of Ministers downwards – are taking preventive measures to stop the spread of the COVID-19 virus and protect the health of the population. A swift reaction and a coordinated approach by all levels of government are essential for protecting citizens and dealing with the epidemic. It is encouraging to see that the state can function in extremely difficult conditions and that politicians are putting the interests of citizens first. Now is the time to put differences aside and keep the country fully functional,” said the High Representative.

The High Representative calls on all citizens to behave responsibly and strictly adhere to the guidelines and instructions received from competent institutions in order to protect themselves, their families, and the most vulnerable population groups.

The High Representative also reminded of the significant number of people who, even in these extraordinary circumstances, must be fully engaged, such as medical and police personnel, members of the Armed Forces,
and many others who need our support to be able to do their job.

“In these difficult circumstances, we must all work together in the spirit of solidarity and the best traditions of this country. I want to express my gratitude to all citizens who are contributing to the efforts to prevent the further spread of the virus.
With the joint efforts of medical experts and responsible institutions, this crisis can be overcome.”
