Inzko and Berton Discuss BiH with Stoltenberg

High Representative Valentin Inzko and First Deputy High Representative Bruce Berton met in Sarajevo with NATO Secretary General Jens Stoltenberg during his official visit to Bosnia and Herzegovina on Thursday, Patria reports.

The High Representative informed the NATO Secretary General about the current political situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina from the perspective of his mandate. The High Representative emphasized that “regardless of the internal political challenges BiH faces, state institutions have managed to achieve internal consensus on issues such as the defense review, which is important for the Euro-Atlantic community.

- That is a positive signal and the international community should recognize it in the right way, and BiH should continue to demonstrate its commitment to the integration process - Inzko said.

The High Representative also stressed that BiH should wisely use 2017, as a year without elections, to make progress on necessary reforms that will bring stability and prosperity to the country and its citizens.
