Inzko, Hartmann and Scanlan visited Brčko's STUDEN Holding Agro-Industrial Complex

BRČKO, (Patria) - The High Representative in Bosnia and Herzegovina Valentin Inzko, the First Deputy High Representative and Brčko District Supervisor Michael Scanlan, and the Ambassador of Austria to BiH Dr. Ulrike Hartmann visited the STUDEN Holding Agro-Industrial Complex in Brčko, which includes the edible oil production factory BIMAL and the sugar refinery STUDEN-AGRANA. As the largest foreign investor in the food industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina, STUDEN Holding presented its production facilities and high-quality products marketed in the domestic market and export markets of European countries, the Western Balkans, as well as the Middle and Far East.

“A bright future for the BiH economy can and should be in the production of high-quality products, primarily for the rich and demanding EU market. This is an excellent way to develop the BiH economy, retain people in the country, and utilize our country's economic potential. After successful investments and the creation of a business environment that Brčko has gained thanks to our business group's Agro-Industrial Complex, a serious direction of our activity is the further expansion of the business network and regional investments in the food industry,” stated the President of the Management Board of STUDEN Holding Ilija Studen.

Since 2002, when STUDEN Holding, together with the United Oil Industry VFI from Austria, took over the company BIMAL, continuous investment and modernization have enabled the production of edible oil according to European and world quality standards. Thanks to a well-established business model, together with AGRANA Group from Austria, the STUDEN-AGRANA Sugar Refinery was also built, and the portfolio of production companies within STUDEN Holding has significantly expanded to date.

“The chance for a full recovery of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian economy, besides general stability, is economic stability, thanks to which the number of investments will increase, and thus conditions for a better business environment in the country will certainly be created,” said the High Representative in BiH Valentin Inzko during his visit to the STUDEN Holding Agro-Industrial Complex and the companies BIMAL and STUDEN-AGRANA Sugar Refinery.

The visit to the STUDEN Holding Agro-Industrial Complex, and the companies BIMAL and STUDEN-AGRANA Sugar Refinery, also prompted discussions on other topics of importance for economic development, especially infrastructure, which is necessary for the smooth movement of goods.
