Internal SDA research: Komšić performs best in Sarajevo, poor forecasts for Zvizdić

Democratic Front of Željko Komšić is surprisingly doing well in Sarajevo Canton, according to the results of a pre-election survey conducted for the needs of the Cantonal Board of the Party of Democratic Action in Sarajevo, the BH News Agency Patria (NAP) has learned.

According to reliable information obtained by Patria agency from sources in the Cantonal Board of SDA in Sarajevo, Željko Komšić's party has the most support in Novi Sarajevo, and is also among the top in most other city municipalities.

The research was conducted before the deadline for submitting candidate lists and also included candidates for the BiH Presidency member from the Bosniak people known up to that point. According to them, Bakir Izetbegović from SDA has a slight advantage over Dr. Mustafa Cerić, an independent candidate, by no more than two or three percent. However, the data they received regarding party support particularly worried the leaders of Sarajevo SDA.

Namely, SDA is performing relatively poorly in all city municipalities, especially in Stari Grad, where it is only fourth. The only municipality where they are first is Novi Grad Municipality, where their candidate also won in the local elections. SDP is sovereign in Centar Municipality and has a solid number of votes in other municipalities as well.

Alliance for Better Future – Fahrudin Radončić also has greater support than SDA, especially in the municipalities of Stari Grad, where it is leading, and in Ilidža Municipality. The research shows that SDA is narrowly at the top in the municipalities of Vogošća, Trnovo, and Hadžići, where it is traditionally strongest.

As we learned, this pre-election poll has further complicated the already unstable situation in the SDA branch led by Denis Zvizdić.

Some members of the top leadership have, as we were told, warned that the chaotic situation and financial collapse of Sarajevo Canton will most significantly reflect on SDA's election results, given that the party also leads the current Cantonal government, reports NAP.
