Inspectors with fingers in honey ordered one-month detention!

(Patria) - The District Court in Banja Luka ordered one-month detention for inspectors Gordana Vučić and Sanja Maksimović, who were arrested in the "Ada" operation and are suspected of accepting bribes.

As confirmed to us, they were taken to KPZ Banja Luka today (February 24). The inspectors are accused of taking 500 KM in bribes each from the owner of a store in Banja Luka.

Incidentally, their colleague Vladan Marjanović was also arrested in the same operation. He was handed over to the Prosecutor's Office yesterday, and it will be decided after questioning whether detention will be requested for him as well.

The "Ada" operation was carried out on Saturday and Sunday by police officers of the Criminal Police Administration of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Republika Srpska under the supervision of the Special Department for Combating Corruption, Organized and the Most Serious Forms of Economic Crime of the Public Prosecutor's Office, and by order of the District Court in Banja Luka.

During the operation aimed at preventing corruption offenses, three market inspectors from Banja Luka were arrested, and a larger amount of money was found.

How were the inspectors discovered?

According to the Prosecutor's Office, based on the evidence obtained so far, it has been determined that on February 20 this year, in the morning hours in Banja Luka, the suspected inspectors, in their capacity as market inspectors and public officials, conducted an inspection of a mixed goods store owned by M.K.

"G.V. contacted M.K. via mobile phone and informed her that during the inspection, they had found certain irregularities for which a fine of 7,000 to 8,000 KM could be imposed, but that they could reach an agreement if M.K. was willing to treat them. After she agreed, G.V. told her that for the allegedly found violations during the inspection, she would issue a minimum fine of 600 KM, demanding that M.K. in return give them money in the amount of 1,000 KM, i.e., 500 KM for each of them, to which M.K. agreed," the Prosecutor's Office stated.

Regarding their colleague Marjanović, he was arrested on Sunday because he was skiing.

After the arrest of the inspectors, the Inspectorate of Republika Srpska stated yesterday that upon receiving official information from the investigative bodies regarding this case, they would take measures within their jurisdiction in accordance with the law.

This includes initiating disciplinary proceedings against the suspects, according to the legally prescribed procedure.
