Inspection entered the polyclinic where the girl from Kakanj was operated on

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - The cantonal health inspector of KUIP, based on information from the media and a request officially submitted to the Cantonal Administration for Inspection Affairs of KS from the Ministry of Health of KS, has initiated an inspection supervision procedure within its jurisdiction at the private specialist practices Halimić at Marijin Dvor and Rožajac/Bejtović at Dobrinja, which are located at the same address.

"Based on the established factual situation, all information and evidence that the inspector obtains during the performance of official duties will be submitted to the Ministry of Health of KS, which requested the inspection supervision," stated KUIP.

The inspection supervision was requested after a two-and-a-half-year-old girl from Kakanj fell into a coma during an operation in the operating room of a private polyclinic and is being kept alive by machines. The girl was urgently transported to KCUS and her condition is still uncertain.

The KS Prosecutor's Office confirmed that an investigation was carried out at the private clinic in Sarajevo.

As the girl's parents recounted, she was born with a drooping eyelid and was operated on a year ago. The wound did not heal, and due to infection, she had to undergo emergency surgery.

In agreement with Dr. Nina Jovanović from the Cantonal Hospital in Zenica, the child was operated on at the private clinic "Dr. Halimić", where the doctor also works, in a rented operating room at Polyclinic Bejtović/Rožajac. The doctor told the parents, as they recounted, that the eye surgery went well, but that complications occurred during waking up from anesthesia, administered by Dr. Suad Rožajac, the cause of which they "do not know".
