BiH also supported the initiative: Van der Bellen launched "Initiative for increasing climate ambitions"

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Based on the Paris Agreement on Climate Change from 2016, Austrian Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen launched in the past few months the "Initiative for more climate ambition" which has so far been supported by more than 30 countries worldwide.

The initiative will be presented within the UN Climate Summit, held from September 21 to 23, 2019, in New York, announced the Austrian Embassy in BiH.

The fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina has also supported this initiative is particularly encouraging, as it shows the country's determination to seriously tackle climate challenges.

The "Initiative for increasing climate ambitions" calls for urgent action, and for the development of concrete plans for reducing greenhouse gas emissions and increasing investments in energy efficiency and renewable energy.

"Let's seize the numerous opportunities and measures to combat climate change and shape a positive future for our planet. Let's leave our children and future generations a world worth living in," reads, among other things, the text of the initiative by the Austrian Federal President.
