Mirza Čelik's Initiative: Urgently Unblock the Work of the FBiH Parliament!

(Patria) - Federal MP Mirza Čelik (DF) has launched an initiative to urgently unblock the work of the Parliament of the Federation of BiH.

In his initiative, Čelik points out that the House of Representatives has not been holding regular sessions for a longer period, which prevents legislative continuity, violates the Constitution of FBiH, as well as citizens' rights to the efficient work of legislative bodies.



The initiative demands the following:

1. Urgently schedule a session

I call on the Speaker of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH to schedule a regular session of the Parliament without delay, in accordance with constitutional and legal obligations, in order to ensure the regular consideration and adoption of legislative proposals of key importance for the citizens of the Federation;

2. Justification for the request to dismiss the Speaker

I note that the request I previously submitted for the dismissal of the Speaker of the Parliament is fully justified.

The blockade of the Parliament's work, which is a direct consequence of the Speaker's refusal to schedule sessions, represents a serious violation of his duties and responsibilities.

This not only jeopardizes the legislative process but also hinders the work of all levels of government, thereby directly harming the interests of the citizens of FBiH;

3. Violation of the Rules of Procedure and the Constitution of FBiH

The failure to hold sessions is contrary to the articles of the Constitution of the Federation of BiH that mandate the regular work of the legislative body, as well as the Rules of Procedure of the House of Representatives of the Parliament of FBiH.

Through his actions, the Speaker is directly obstructing the work of the legislative authority and preventing the Parliament from fulfilling its function, which is why the request for his dismissal is not only justified but also necessary for unblocking the work of the institutions.



4. Alternative mechanisms for unblocking

In case of further refusal to schedule a session, I demand the immediate initiation of proceedings for the dismissal of the Speaker due to obstruction of work, and I call on the members of Parliament to consider all available mechanisms for unblocking the work of this body, including an initiative for a vote of no confidence.

5. Acting in the public interest

The blockade of the Parliament's work directly harms the interests of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, as it prevents the adoption of laws crucial for economic, social, and legal development.

The work of the Parliament must be urgently unblocked to continue addressing issues of vital importance to citizens.

This initiative has been submitted to ensure the regular work of the Parliament and the protection of the public interest of the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina, emphasizing the justification for the request to dismiss the Speaker," stated Mirza Čelik in his initiative.
