Independent: Pjanić could be a star of the World Cup in Brazil

British newspaper "Independent" publishes a list of 100 footballers who could be stars at the upcoming World Cup and publishes biographies of footballers from their list in their print edition. They ranked Miralem Pjanić, a Roma footballer and member of the BiH national team, in 89th place, describing him as a potential biggest star of the World Cup in Brazil.

The Independent journalist described Pjanić as an exceptional midfielder who became a hit in Europe after moving from Lyon to Roma, reports the Patria News Agency.

- With his performances, he rightly attracts the attention of giants such as Barcelona and Manchester United. He has helped Roma in their good performances. He is always close to the journalists' microscopes, especially when he chose to play for BiH and when he took their passport – the text states, reports NAP.

It was also stated that Pjanić had to wait eight months to obtain BiH citizenship and that he went through various trials at that time.

- He went with his heart to play for his country and, along with Manchester City striker Edin Džeko, enjoys the status of the biggest star of the BiH team. He could be the biggest surprise in Brazil – they added in the Independent's text.
