Director of KS Inspectorate Appointed: Can Mešić Get a New Term Despite Criminal Charges?

(Patria) - The Government of Sarajevo Canton has passed a Decision to announce a competition for the selection of the Director of the Cantonal Inspectorate Administration of KS (KUIP) and to appoint a Commission that will conduct the competition procedure.

The commission will hold a session today, July 31st.

Incidentally, concurrently with the Government's Decision, a criminal complaint was filed by the Prosecutor's Office of Sarajevo Canton against the current acting director Adis Mešić.

Interestingly, according to the criminal complaint, the current acting director of KS KUIP allegedly falsified a public document (proof of work experience) when he was hired at KUIP KS for the position of cantonal market and tourism inspector.

The current acting director Mešić is also vying for a new term as director of KS KUIP.

Now everything is in the hands of the KS Government Commission for conducting the competition procedure for the selection of the director. It is still unclear whether they will seek an opinion from the Office for Combating Corruption or the KS Prosecutor's Office?

Because, previously, the Office for Combating Corruption, due to irregularities in the procedure of selection and appointment or in the organization and management of public institutions, sent several initiatives to the KS Government, i.e., the relevant ministries, to initiate a procedure to determine the responsibility of directors because they illegally held their positions. Mešić is among them.

Also, a group of employees wrote to Prime Minister Nihad Uk, as well as to members of the Assembly, when the KS Government was supposed to appoint an acting director of the Inspectorate Administration of KS, stating that this would be Adis Mešić's third time, and that they opposed it. Although they stated that such a decision was contrary to Article 4 of the Law on Ministerial, Government, and Other Appointments of the Federation of BiH, the KS Government nevertheless appointed Mešić.

However, Mešić is not the only 'problematic' one. According to verified sources from KS KUIP, there is a list of inspectors who have falsified public documents regarding work experience, namely inspectors C. S., DZ. Z, M. M, A. M...)
