PS BiH APPOINTS Alen Halep as Top-Ranked Candidate for Director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of Fight Against Corruption

(Patria) - The Commission for Election and Monitoring of the Work of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of Fight Against Corruption (APIK) at its session held on December 22, 2025, adopted the Report on determining the ranking list of candidates for the appointment of the Director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of Fight Against Corruption and forwarded it to the House of Representatives and the House of Peoples of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH for further procedure.

Thus, the appointment of the APIK Director will also be on the agenda of the House of Representatives of the PS BiH session on January 22.

The public call was issued in May, and the entire procedure dragged on until the end of the year. Although five applications were received (Elvir Pilav, Hajro Pošković, Jasmin Pilica, Alen Halep, and Emir Bašić), the final ranking list includes three names: the top-ranked Halep with 626 points, Pilav with 567, and Pošković with 509 points. Pilica publicly stated that the position belonged to NIP and therefore did not participate in further proceedings. Halep has been an employee of APIK for many years.

This position has been vacant since the resignation of Elvis Kondžić in October 2024, who was dismissed from the position of Director of the Agency for Prevention of Corruption and Coordination of Fight Against Corruption at the session of the House of Peoples of the PS BiH in November, and at the House of Representatives of the PS BiH in early December 2024.

Since then, APIK has been managed by deputies Damirka Mioč and Rade Ristović.
