Coordination Team Appointed for Establishment of Common Market in the Western Balkans

(Patria) - The Council of Ministers of BiH, upon the proposal of the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations, adopted a Decision on the appointment of the Coordination Team for the establishment of the Common Market in the Western Balkans, with the aim of implementing the Action Plan for a Common Regional Market (CRM).

The coordinator of the team is appointed as the Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations of BiH, Ljiljana Lovrić, and the deputy coordinators are representatives of the Ministries of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations; Security; Civil Affairs; Finance and Treasury; Communications and Transport; Defence; as well as the Indirect Taxation Authority and the Directorate for Economic Planning of BiH.

The Coordination Team initiates and proposes measures and activities within the competence of the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the Council of Ministers, in cooperation with all relevant levels of government in BiH, for the implementation of measures from the Action Plan.

At the summit in Sofia in 2020, the Initiative for the Establishment of a Common Regional Market was agreed upon, and the Action Plan for the Common Regional Market of the Western Balkans 2021-2024 was adopted.

Furthermore, the European Union adopted the Regulation on the new Growth Plan for the Western Balkans, two of whose four pillars refer to the Common Regional Market, concerning economic integration into the EU Single Market and the enhancement of economic integration within the Western Balkans.
