(Patria) - Regarding the monstrous case of exploitation of minor girls, wards of the Home for Children without Parental Care in the Tuzla Canton, which constitutes several serious criminal offenses, including child trafficking, sexual exploitation, and other offenses against the freedom and integrity of a child for financial gain, the public was addressed by Jasmin Imamović, a representative of the Social Democratic Party of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the House of Representatives of the Parliamentary Assembly of BiH.
"Two girls, two vulnerable children, are experiencing a reality worse than the ugliest nightmare. When they think that four police officers will protect them, they become their victims too, and eight men, who could have been their fathers or grandfathers, according to the prosecution's claims, turned vulnerable children into victims of crime. And that perverted professor.
Thanks to the prosecutors and police officers who exposed and arrested them. It seems all doors were closed to the girls, except the doors to hell or jahannam. How many more perpetrators of these heinous acts are there, and how many more abused children?
What else needs to happen for the Tuzla Canton to start establishing adequate institutions for psychosocial care and protection of children who need such protection? Who else, besides the suspected eight, will be held accountable?
As a society, we have hit rock bottom. Society must protect itself from perpetrators of such heinous acts and from those who were obligated to take systemic measures for the protection of minors, but failed to do so," states Imamović.
