Although media reports suggested that the new Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is unconstitutional, the situation is different and it has been formed in accordance with the Constitution of the FBiH, writes the Patria news agency.
The Constitution of the FBiH states that “the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (the Prime Minister/President of the Government and sixteen ministers) consists of eight ministers from the ranks of the Bosniak people, five ministers from the ranks of the Croat people, and three ministers from the ranks of the Serb people. One minister from the ranks of Others may be appointed by the Prime Minister/President of the Government from the quota of the most numerous constituent people.”
However, a political agreement was reached, so the SDA proposed seven Bosniaks for the new FBiH Government, including Prime Minister Fadil Novalić (Salko Bukvarević, Elvira Ćemalović-Dilberović, Šemsudin Dedić, Edin Ramić, Aljoša Čampara, and Amir Zukić). The DF also proposed one Bosniak, namely Reuf Bajrović, the future Minister of Energy and Mining.
This therefore amounts to eight, i.e., seven Bosniak ministers. Additionally, the DF proposed three Serbs (Aleksandar Remetić, Snježana Soldat, and Milan Mandilović).
HDZ BiH appointed five Croats plus one ministerial position from the ranks of Others. These are Finance Minister Jelka Miličević, Minister of Transport and Communications Denis Lasić, Minister of Culture and Sports Zora Dujmović, Minister of Health Vjekoslav Mandić, Minister of Justice Mato Jozić, and Minister of Spatial Planning Josip Martić.
