There is a Godson-Tycoon Connection: Who is Nemanja Vasić Behind Perica Stanić and Dragan Mektić

At the session of the Council of Ministers of BiH held on October 27, a point on the agenda concerning the appointment of the Director of SIPA was supposed to be discussed.

However, the confirmation of Perica Stanić's appointment was postponed again. The reason is known; the Council of Ministers of BiH wants to hear Mektić's explanation as to why he chose the third-ranked candidate, Stanić, from the list compiled by the Independent Board, reports the Patria News Agency.

It is known that there were different views within the SDS regarding the support for successful candidates from the list compiled by the Independent Board, primarily concerning the support for Perica Stanić and Davor Vidović, who was ranked second.

It is evident that something is happening behind the scenes, given that the confirmation of the SIPA Director's election is still pending.

Judging by the turn of events and our source close to the SDS leadership, most key figures in this party are not happy with the fact that Mektić chose Stanić over Vidović, with whom he is simultaneously in a godson-tycoon relationship.

Our source further reveals that Nemanja Vasić, a tycoon from Prnjavor who is in a godson relationship with both Stanić and Mektić, is allegedly the most responsible for Mektić's choice of Stanić as the third-ranked candidate from the list.

Vasić, according to our sources from the SDS, allegedly has significant influence over the Mayor of Prnjavor Municipality, Siniša Gatarić, and the National Assembly of Republika Srpska MP from Prnjavor, Miladin Stanić, who is a close relative of the proposed SIPA Director.

SDS President Mladen Bosić expelled Nemanja Vasić from the SDS several years ago due to corruption scandals and the negative image he brought to the SDS.

In 2004, the then High Representative Paddy Ashdown banned Vasić from political activity for obstructing the Dayton Agreement, and he was only rehabilitated after the arrest of Radovan Karadžić.

When Nemanja Vasić's name is searched on the internet, numerous articles about corruption scandals, crime, and scandals appear.

However, today it seems that with his policies within the SDS, Bosić has effectively "made a master out of a servant.".

Our source also further explains the genesis of Stanić's rise and his connections with Vasić, Mektić, and Gatarić, stating that the current nominee for SIPA Director, Perica Stanić, was a bookseller until 1996, selling books in a bookstore in Prnjavor.

In Prnjavor, everything revolved around Nemanja Vasić when he was a prominent SDS official, but it seems that is still the case today, even though he has been expelled from the SDS.

Thus, today Nemanja Vasić, through this party, actually controls the security sector in BiH, while SDS President Mladen Bosić, lacking decisiveness, is making masters out of yesterday's servants.

Whether Bosić's policy of avoiding conflict will be fatal for both him and the SDS remains to be seen. It is evident that it could lead to fierce divisions within the SDS, which largely depends on the Sarajevo faction of the SDS led by Darko Babalj, a delegate in the House of Peoples of BiH and a member of the Joint Defense and Security Commission of both houses of the Parliament of BiH.
