Ilija Cvitanović for NAP: Those rattling weapons in BiH have moved their children abroad

Commenting on the tense situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially after Božo Ljubić's statement about „crossing the Rubicon if changes to the Election Law in BiH do not occur,“ the president of HDZ 1990, Ilija Cvitanović, says he does not know what Ljubić specifically meant by this statement, but he knows that all those who rattle weapons in Bosnia and Herzegovina have moved their children to comfortable positions outside Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

 „Here I do not specifically mean Božo Ljubić, but all those who raise tensions in the country on all sides,“ Cvitanović said in a comment for the Patria agency.

Changes to the Election Law of BiH are, Cvitanović says, in any case necessary so that citizens in BiH can have elections like in all countries of the European Union. And these changes, he adds, must be such that every people in BiH is protected, even when it comes to the election of legitimate political representatives in power. 

Cvitanović says that „the Rubicon was crossed long ago, at least as far as BiH Croats are concerned, and in every respect, from the economy to the relationship of the prosecutor's office towards former members of the HVO.“

The president of HDZ 1990 believes that in BiH every opportunity is used to block the Euro-Atlantic path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and that citizens in the country suffer the most because of this. Although, he says, the public tries to portray the situation quite differently.

„Political parties and individuals who talk the most about the importance of the European Union for BiH actually do everything to prevent the European Union from happening to Bosnia and Herzegovina, because that would also mean opening up many stories about crime and corruption in the country for which some of the leading people from the government are responsible,“ says Cvitanović.

„Because, the European Union also means showing the full extent of crime in BiH, which is enormous in this country,“ adds Cvitanović.

Asked whether the registration of military property could be a new obstacle on the NATO path of Bosnia and Herzegovina, given that many saw the registration of part of this property to municipalities and cantons in the Federation, i.e., the RS, as new ethno-territorial divisions in the country, Cvitanović says that the position of HDZ 1990 is that property that belongs to the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina should be registered to the state of BiH, while property that is not needed by the state should be registered to local communities.

„Are the municipalities of Rama, Pale or Tuzla Bosnia and Herzegovina?“, Cvitanović asks.

„I see no problem at all with property that is not needed by the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina being registered to local communities. I believe that this is aimed at helping the development of local units as bearers of economic revival in BiH,“ concluded Cvitanović.
