THE GAME IS ONE THING, RESPECT ANOTHER: Applause for the Italian anthem

(Patria) - The match between Bosnia and Herzegovina and Italy in the final of the World Cup play-off began with the anthem.

The Italian anthem was met with applause before and after by the fans at Bilino Polje, without a single rude gesture or whistle.

"As expected, and despite the risks, the Bosnian public welcomed the Italian national team with love. When the official lineups were announced, the Zenica stadium applauded the Azzurri, confirming the historic connection between the fan bases," writes Tuttomercatoweb.

Italy was the first national team to play in Sarajevo after the aggression in November 1996.

There is also a section with noisy Italian fans at the Bilino Polje stadium.
