Igor Crnadak receives Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina Bruce G. Berton

SARAJEVO, (Patria) - Minister of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak received the Head of the OSCE Mission to Bosnia and Herzegovina Bruce G. Berton.

Minister Crnadak welcomed the Head of the OSCE Mission Berton, and then thanked his interlocutor for everything the OSCE institution has done so far in BiH and proposed continued cooperation.

Minister Crnadak then welcomed the engagement of the OSCE Mission to BiH in strengthening cooperation with other OSCE missions in the region in areas of common interest.

Head of the OSCE Mission Berton thanked the minister for the support provided for the engagement and assistance primarily in resolving security issues and the previous assistance regarding the organization of the 2018 elections. He offered assistance in realizing dialogue at all levels of government with the aim of overcoming problems that hinder the electoral process in BiH.

During the meeting, Head of the OSCE Mission Berton informed Minister Crnadak about the upcoming visit of OSCE Secretary General Thomas Greminger to BiH, scheduled for February 19-21, 2018.

The interlocutors agreed that there is a need to renew the agreement between BiH and the OSCE regarding the status of the OSCE mission in BiH (diplomatic immunities, privileges of employees of the OSCE mission in BiH).

In this regard, they initiated meetings of the services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of BiH and the OSCE with the aim of amending and redefining the existing agreement that addresses the aforementioned issues.
