Igman Konjic celebrates 70 years of existence

(Patria) - The celebration of the 70th anniversary of the arms and ammunition manufacturing company "Igman" d.d. Konjic began with the International Panel "Global Military Industry Market - Trends and Analyses" where the Federal Prime Minister Fadil Novalić and the company's director Đahid Muratbegović, along with business partners from America, Asia, and Europe, emphasized that "Igman" has developed a recognizable product and ammunition in the Western market.

The highest demand is for caliber 7.62 x 39 mm, followed by 12.7 mm. Prime Minister Novalić congratulated the company and the management of "Igman" on their success, stating that 70 years is indeed a long lifespan.

"It's all a matter of management and leadership. The director is leading this company excellently, and it shows, which is not the case with all companies in the defense industry," said Novalić.

Weapons as a means of combat must be significant, so the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue to support the company "Igman", it was stated.

"Based on 15 years of cooperation with 'Igman', I can say that this company has developed very well in terms of production and marketing. Prime Minister Novalić mentioned investments, that a lot is invested in resources and people, and we as clients notice that. 'Igman' has an unparalleled ability to respond to the strict requirements that the United States of America sets in terms of products," said the owner of Global Ordnance LLC Sarasota, Marc Morales.

The excellent cooperation was also praised by the owner of the military company "MF 300", Tarik Ezzat, as well as the owner of the company EMCO, Emilian Gebrev.

"There is no other factory in the world that does its job so well. The company's success is that the employees work like 'Swiss watches'. The generational shift and technological advancements are integrated very well into carrying out this activity," said Gebrev.

At the end of the panel, the director of "Igman", Muratbegović, stated that the employees will continue to work on improving quality because global trends must be followed, and there have been requests to produce larger caliber ammunition.

"Igman" plans a new line of 7.62 x 51 mm caliber ammunition worth 10.5 million euros, which is expected to be launched this year.

This was announced by director Muratbegović at a press conference held on the occasion of the celebration of this significant anniversary.

"It is great stability. The Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina is absolutely determined to continue supporting defense industry factories. 'Igman' produces twice as much now as it did before the war, and we are extremely satisfied with that. We believe that new modern technologies and materials, as well as a new generation of development engineers, should be put into use behind the new lines," said Prime Minister Novalić.

He also pointed out the fact that "Igman", by carrying out its activities, provides security in the country.
