IGK warns: Dangerous geostrategic Serbianisation in the Balkans, the goal remains the creation of a 'Greater Serbia'

(Patria) - The Institute for Research of Genocide Canada (IGK) issued a statement regarding the manifestation "Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag" held yesterday in Niš. Among others, the President of the RS, Milorad Dodik, attended the gathering.

The IGK warns that the policy of a Greater Serbia, which dates back to the time of the criminal Draža Mihailović, is today being implemented through Serbian unity. It is clearly defined in documents of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SANU), specifically memorandums 1 and 2.

"The first was written in 1986, while the second is more recent and dates from 2011. This is a dangerous geostrategic Serbianisation in the Balkans ordered by the top leadership of Serbia and the top leadership of the BiH entity RS.

Such manifestations represent a great danger and uncertainty for BiH, and remind us of the verdicts of international courts for the most serious forms of crimes against humanity and international law," the IGK states.

They emphasise that the new Greater Serbian, nationalist ideology is now being realised through culture and religion, in order to create cohesion among the Serbian population in the region.

"The demonstration of power and the calls of Serbian, great-nationalist officials for the creation of a 'Serbian world' and the political unification of 1.3 million Serbs living in BiH, Montenegro, Croatia and Kosovo, by displaying the state flag wherever they live in the region or the world to mark the Day of Serbian Unity, Freedom and the National Flag, is in fact a call for campaigns in BiH, Croatia and Kosovo with the aim of forming a 'Greater Serbia'.

The adoption of the discriminatory, anti-civilisational Law on the Protection, Preservation and Use of the Language of the Serbian People and the Cyrillic Script, under an urgent procedure in the National Assembly of the RS, which promotes and privileges the Serbian language and Serbian national culture, while placing the Bosnian and Croatian languages and their cultures, as well as those of others, in a discriminatory position, is a denial and marginalisation of the Bosniak and Croatian languages and their identity in the name of an inhuman representation of the BiH entity RS as an exclusively Serbian administrative unit within the state of BiH.

The legalisation and standardisation of systemic discrimination against the Bosnian language in the BiH entity RS is the destruction of the cultural integrity and sovereignty of the state of BiH," the IGK statement adds.
