IGK asks Schmidt to sanction Dodik and ban the marking of January 9th

(Patria) - The Institute for Research of Genocide (IGK) is asking Canada to, in line with its previous decisions, request the High Representative to ban January 9th and sanction the leader of Republika Srpska and SNSD, Milorad Dodik.

Director of IGK Emir Ramić sent a letter yesterday to Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Minister of Foreign Affairs Melanie Joly.

The letter is based on the written response of the Government of Canada from 2020 regarding the unconstitutional marking of the day of the BiH entity Republika Srpska.

At the beginning of the letter, a part of the written response of the Government of Canada from 2020 is quoted.

"Please be assured that Canada is firmly committed to the General Framework Agreement for Peace and to preserving the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Bosnia and Herzegovina in accordance with international law.

As a member of the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board, Canada supports Bosnia and Herzegovina in its development as a stable, sustainable, democratic multi-ethnic state, encourages it to cooperate peacefully with its neighbors, and strongly supports its path towards Euro-Atlantic integration.

We are aware of the discriminatory decision of the Republika Srpska entity regarding January 9th, despite the decision of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which ruled the celebration of January 9th as the entity day unconstitutional.

In the communiqué of the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board, Canada and other members have once again firmly reiterated that the decisions of the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina are final and binding, and have requested all levels of government in Bosnia and Herzegovina to fully implement the decision of the Constitutional Court".

In the meantime, the Government of Canada has reacted sharply several times to the anti-state activities of Milorad Dodik and his political establishment.

"Given the aforementioned written response of the Government of Canada from 2020 and subsequently several sharp condemnations of the anti-state actions of Milorad Dodik and his political establishment, we ask Canada, as a responsible member of the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to urgently propose an extraordinary session of the Steering Board that would instruct the High Representative of the international community in Bosnia and Herzegovina to, in accordance with his constitutional powers, take urgent measures and decisions to protect the implementation of the civilian part of the Dayton Peace Agreement, i.e., to ensure the normal functioning of state institutions in order to protect the territorial integrity, independence, sovereignty, and political-legal subjectivity of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The High Representative, as the most responsible and most powerful personification of the international community, announced a year ago that we will no longer witness the January 9th rampage against Bosnia and Herzegovina, but also against truth, justice, human dignity, and the dignity of the UN and its international courts.

At the same time, we ask Canada, as a member of the Peace Implementation Council Steering Board in Bosnia and Herzegovina, to once again request concrete action from the judicial authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina in terms of prosecuting all those who directly work against the state.

Canada must react to Dodik's attacks on the state order, on the Constitutional Court, on the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on peace and stability. Canada must react to Dodik's adoption of acts and laws to be ready for the day he announced as a 'historically favorable moment for the declaration of independence of Republika Srpska'", stated Ramić.

The letter also emphasizes that it is shameful in the center of a united Europe, after "Never again!", after the Holocaust, and after the greatest crime in Europe after World War II, the aggression against the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the genocide against Bosniaks, to mark the day of the BiH entity Republika Srpska with the passivity of the international community.

The IGK letter concludes with the statement that January 9th reminds all activists and fighters for truth and justice in Canada and around the world of the horrors of aggression and genocide and the attempt to destroy the state of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"The main goal of the Greater Serbian nationalist policy, which is particularly active in Canada, is to keep Bosnia and Herzegovina within Yugoslavia during the aggression, i.e., its integration into the 'Greater Serbia' system after the aggression.

That unfulfilled goal was precisely proclaimed by the actors of the Greater Serbian policy on January 9th, when the so-called Assembly of the Serb People proclaimed the Republic of the Serb People of Bosnia and Herzegovina on January 9, 1992, in Sarajevo, which, according to that proclamation, is part of the Federal State of Yugoslavia, as its federal unit.

The only way for a part of Bosnia and Herzegovina to remain part of the Federal State of Yugoslavia, as its federal unit, was for the proponents of that policy, faced with a legal defeat (because Canada and no one in the world recognized the declaration of that illegal assembly, unlike the referendum on the independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina), to apply aggressive genocidal violence.

We remind the Government of Canada that when the authorities of the BiH entity Republika Srpska mark the anniversary of January 9th, they are simultaneously concealing the fact that the Greater Serbian regime of Milošević and Karadžić, even with the help of genocide, did not succeed in making a part of Bosnia and Herzegovina part of the Republic of Serbia.

Frequent calls by Greater Serbian politicians for alleged unification best testify to the unfulfilled political goals of January 9th and the goals proclaimed through the declaration of the illegal so-called Assembly of the Serb People of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Canada has repeatedly confirmed the fact that Republika Srpska is only an entity within the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and not a federal unit within the Republic of Serbia, as was intended and for which aggression and genocide were committed in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Finally, we inform the political leaders of Canada and the Canadian, as well as the world public, once again that the goals from the declaration of January 9th, according to which a part of Bosnia and Herzegovina was to be annexed to Serbia, will never be realized", adds the IGK Canada letter.
