IGK demands sanctions against Goganović for attending unconstitutional January 9 celebration and humiliating the flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina

(Patria) - Aleksandar Goganović, Deputy Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, threatened young Second Lieutenant of the Armed Forces of BiH Amina Pilavdžija in a statement to the media from the smaller BiH entity, due to her posting a flag with lilies on social media.

The photograph posted by Pilavdžija was taken on 23 February 1996 in Vogošća. At that time, Vogošća was returned to Sarajevo, and in that municipality, 23 February is celebrated as the Day of Reintegration. The image shows the then mayor of Vogošća, Muhamed Kozadra, who, instead of the tricolour, hoisted the then official flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina on the flagpole.

From the IGK, they tell Aleksandar Goganović that the official flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina with lilies is not a flag of hatred and intolerance towards anyone, but the flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

"That is not and cannot be controversial at all, but for many reasons, your spreading of untruths about that flag is controversial. The flag with lilies does not symbolise only one people, but only one state, BiH. It is not a war flag, but was the official flag of the state of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, an internationally recognised country that flew in front of the United Nations headquarters from 1992 to 1998. That flag of the medieval Kingdom of Bosnia is in the hearts of all patriots of Bosnia and Herzegovina and can only be a problem for those who are bothered by the existence of the state of BiH.

The real question is why are you bothered by the lilies as a centuries-old symbol of Bosnian statehood, and precisely at this moment? The criminalisation of the flag with lilies and its placement in the context of rewriting historical facts about the centuries-old statehood of BiH and the revision of judicial facts about the aggression and genocide in BiH is an integral part of the lobbying campaign of the anti-Bosnian coalition that is strongly active in the homeland and diaspora.

Your spreading of untruths about the flag with lilies clearly indicates that you do not serve your state, us, and a BiH that should be a source of pride even for you, but that you serve the anti-Bosnian coalition. Your inhuman and inhumane attitude towards the state that pays you clearly speaks about the character of your personality.

We will demand from the competent authorities the filing of a criminal complaint against you, both for attending the unconstitutional celebration of January 9 and for humiliating the official state flag of the Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina," they state from the IGK, headed by Emir Ramić.
