(Patria) - The scientifically proven genocide in Prijedor is the truth about the humiliation of human dignity and the national identity of Bosniaks and Croats, the truth about the destruction of everything existing that reflects Bosniak and Croatian national identity, the truth about the ghettoization of Bosniaks and Croats with the aim of creating a "Greater Serbia", the truth about the attempt to destroy Bosniaks and Croats as nations and to appropriate the territories where they lived, states the reaction of the Institute for Genocide Research regarding the verdict of the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the case of war crimes in the place of Zecovi.

"Prijedor is far from truth and justice, from catharsis, confession of crimes and seeking forgiveness from the victim. The human future must be forced to define itself in relation to the genocide in Prijedor. The goal of the genocidal project is to erase every trace that would testify that Bosniaks and Croats ever lived in Prijedor. The goal was to kill the history of the city of Prijedor," the reaction states.
They add that the ominous fall into human nothingness, into human hatred, has destroyed the humane task of encountering the other in Prijedor.

"More than 30 years after that terrible sinking of humanity, Prijedor is still in an age of cultural misery where the execution of the culture of memory reigns. But there are still those who do not forget, but rather confirm the Prijedor genocide. Because it is impossible to have a Prijedor future in the space and time of the existence of an ideology, politics and practice that killed youth, people, women, intelligence. Only through a culture of memory, only through a monument to the murdered youth and the victims of genocide, can one freely climb again to the hill of a better and happier future in Prijedor. In the meantime, until we climb the free hill of humanity, a deep bow to the youth of Prijedor and the victims of genocide. Only those who do not believe in God and who hate God can kill youth. The murdered children of Prijedor continue their life through space and time in the collective memory of all good people of the world. That is why the murdered children, the victims of genocide in Prijedor, will never be forgotten," the IGK reaction states.

As stated by the IGK: "The genocide in Prijedor remains a warning to man and humanity about the necessity of constant readiness to recognize the politics of evil in which genocide is the goal, not a consequence of war."

"The surviving victims and witnesses of the genocide in Prijedor remain humiliated because they are denied the right to memory, truth and justice. But the victims will not give up the fight for truth and justice until the truth about aggression and genocide prevails, until justice is achieved for the victims, peace is brought for the survivors, and an acceptable and humanly tolerable future is built for Bosniak and Croatian children in Prijedor. We will not allow the genocide in Prijedor to be forgotten because the fear of forgetting the Prijedor genocide is greater than the horror of the Serbian crime in Prijedor," they stated from the IGK.
