IGK launches petition to abolish RS curriculum glorifying war criminals

(Patria) - The International Expert Team of the Institute for Research of Genocide Canada, based on requests from many individuals, organizations, and communities worldwide, has launched a petition: "Stop the glorification of convicted war criminals in the schools of the RS entity”.

The Institute for Research of Genocide Canada will continue to work on activities aimed at spreading truth, justice, and a culture of remembrance in the name of promoting genuine reconciliation and ensuring that crimes are never forgotten, especially the crime of genocide in Srebrenica.

In line with its primary mission, the Institute for Research of Genocide Canada continuously works on educating, researching, and raising awareness about the genocide in Srebrenica, both in its homeland, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in Canada, the USA, and around the world. Through educational programs, organizing conferences, publishing, and other forms of public engagement, the Institute for Research of Genocide Canada continuously preserves the memory of the victims of genocide in order to prevent future generations from being misled by dangerous ideologies of hatred. All in order to achieve victory for truth, justice, and a culture of remembrance as an important path towards a better future for the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina and all its peoples and citizens.

Let us not allow the denial of judicial, historical, and scientific facts about genocide to occupy young minds and thus direct them towards hatred, just as territories of Bosnia and Herzegovina were occupied through lies and hatred during the aggression.

Let us raise our voices to abolish the curricula of schools in the RS entity, where elementary school students are served distorted, false, and incorrect historical facts in history classes, contrary to the judgments of the International Court of Justice, the International Criminal Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia, the Resolution of the United Nations General Assembly on the genocide in Srebrenica, as well as the actual events confirmed by history and science.
