IGK Canada calls for Varhelyi's dismissal: European Commission must distance itself from genocide denial

(Patria) - The Institute for Research of Genocide Canada, due to open agitation against the United Nations General Assembly Resolution on the genocide in Srebrenica, is calling for the dismissal of the European Union's Commissioner for Enlargement, Oliver Varhelyi.

"It is anti-civilizational for a high-ranking European Union official responsible for enlargement to agitate directly against the official stance of the European Union, humiliating legally binding verdicts of international courts, humiliating international justice, and humiliating the victims of genocide.

The statement by European Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi, opposing the adoption of the Srebrenica Resolution in the UN General Assembly, claiming it attempts to impose collective guilt on the Serbian people, is contrary to the values on which the European Union is founded and is based on complete falsehoods. The statement is also contrary to the resolutions of the European Parliament, which highlight the fact that genocide was committed in Srebrenica.

With such claims, Varhelyi places himself among those who deny genocide and deny the Resolution," the statement reads.

IGK calls on the European Commission to publicly distance itself and condemn Varhelyi's opposition to the adoption of the Resolution.

"We call on the competent institutions to ban Varhelyi from approaching the Srebrenica Genocide Memorial Center until he apologizes to the victims of genocide. We call on the state institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina to react and declare Varhelyi undesirable in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We call on the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina to summon the Ambassador of Hungary and hand him a strong diplomatic note.

The Hungarian official, whose country is against the United Nations General Assembly resolution, directly supports the Serbian, Russian, Chinese, and Hungarian anti-civilizational campaign against the proposed Resolution commemorating the genocide in Srebrenica," they conclude.
