IDDEEA to resolve passport issues starting tomorrow

The Council of Ministers of BiH today, with accepted suggestions from the Opinion of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury of BiH, adopted the IDDEEA Information on how to resolve inherited problems related to the printing of passport books in Bosnia and Herzegovina. As Patria learns, already tomorrow the deputy director of IDDEEA will post a notice for all companies considered competent and capable of meeting the conditions to come forward, with whom a negotiated procedure for printing passports will be opened. The condition will be that they can start working as early as March 22, 2017.

The Agency for Identification Documents, Records and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina is obliged, within its legal mandate and in accordance with the Law on Public Procurement, to take available urgent measures to enable the right to freedom of movement of BiH citizens in accordance with the Constitution of BiH and the European Convention on Human Rights and Fundamental Freedoms, all in order to protect the general interest and prevent disproportionate consequences that could arise.

The General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers of BiH will inform the Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Appeals Review Office, the Legal Counsel of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and the Public Procurement Agency about the Information (with the opinion of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury) and the adopted conclusions.

The Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, at an extraordinary session, accepted the resignation of Edim Nesimi from the position of director of the Agency for Identification Documents, Records and Data Exchange of Bosnia and Herzegovina (IDDEEA).
