Ibričić for Patria: My decision is final, too much has accumulated!

Senijad Ibričić will no longer play for the national football team of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He announced this decision in a letter to the public of Bosnia and Herzegovina, and in an exclusive interview with the BH news agency Patria, he reveals that he has been thinking about it for a long time and believes that he said "goodbye" to the BiH team at the right time, a team where he says he enjoyed every second.

- I have decided and it is not easy for me that this is the decision, because I am only 29 years old and I can still give a lot, but everything has accumulated. I even thought about it before, and now I think it's the right time, because I was at the World Cup and there can't be a better time for it - says Ibričić from Turkey for NAP.

He further notes that before sending the letter to the public, he called the people at the Football Federation of BiH and informed them of his decision.

- Well, I was practically their employee and it was right to inform them of my decision. The F BiH is also aware that my decision is final - added Ibričić, saying that it would be ugly to waver after everything.

- I am proud of every appearance and I have fulfilled my dream, because every player has that dream if they play football, to play for the national team. There is no way I will change my mind. That would be it - added Ibričić.

In the letter, among other things, Ibričić states that it was unnecessarily emphasized and attributed to him through the media that he was in the best team because he was Edin Džeko's friend. However, Ibričić does not blame the journalists for anything.

- All credit to the exceptions and journalists who wrote what they should have, but I must say that this is not the key to my decision either, because I have always said that journalists are people who have the right to do and write what they want, whether they praise or criticize is their business. It has nothing to do with it. I have been in the national team for 10 years, and recently a lot of negativity has accumulated - added Ibričić.

He admits that his family, friends, and teammates tried to dissuade him, but that he made the hardest decision because he could no longer bear any untruths and the burden placed on his shoulders.

- Everyone I told was surprised. First I talked to my family and everyone I told about the decision from my teammates, friends tried to dissuade me, but there was a lot of bad things and that's the end of my game in the dearest jersey in the world - noted Ibričić.

He attended the funeral on July 11 in Srebrenica with Edin Džeko, and he regrets that he was not free yesterday to attend the funeral in Kozarac for his Krajina compatriots.

- It was my first time in Srebrenica, because it was my first time free during the funeral, usually in July preparations begin, but this time we got an extended break due to the World Cup. And I immediately said, just like Edin Džeko, that we would go there, because it was the least we could do for all the victims. I wish I had been free yesterday too, especially because the funeral was in my Krajina, but I say it's a difficult fate and may eternal peace be with all the victims, and may God grant patience to the families - added Ibričić.
