Ibrahim Maalouf to close Jazz Fest Sarajevo

After a two-month break, Lebanese trumpeter based in Paris, Ibrahim Maalouf, continues his European tour, which will include more than 50 concerts in the next three months, and the only concert in the region will be held in Bosnia and Herzegovina at the closing of the 18th Jazz Fest Sarajevo, reports the BH News Agency Patria.

Jazz Fest Sarajevo begins on November 4 and will last until November 9.

This summer, Maalouf and his ensemble held 23 concerts attended by more than 60,000 visitors, as part of the Illusions tour, promoting his current album, declared the best world music release in France last year. Maalouf's albums have been the best-selling instrumental music releases in that country for three years in a row.

A few days before the Sarajevo concert, which will be held on November 9 at the Bosnian Cultural Center, Maalouf will release his sixth album titled Au pays d'Alice, or In the Land of Alice, alluding to Lewis Carroll's work Alice in Wonderland.

Judging by the reviews of Ibrahim Maalouf's and his eight-member ensemble's concerts so far, the concert in Bosnia and Herzegovina will also feature wonderful music from one of the most sought-after trumpeters of the younger generation.
