Both the government and the opposition want the same thing: fewer Bosniaks in RS

Ramiz Salkić, Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly of Republika Srpska and member of the Presidency of the Party of Democratic Action (SDA), told the Patria News Agency (NAP) that some extreme nationalist statements by former soldiers of the Army of Republika Srpska do not surprise him.

Namely, former soldiers of the Army of Republika Srpska have been gathering in Banja Luka for several days, and among other things, a request was sent to the president of the Veterans Organization, Pantelija Ćurguz, to resign and dissolve BORS.

However, in addition to attacks on Milorad Dodik and Željka Cvijanović, during the speeches of former soldiers, there were radical statements from the demonstrators such as claims that they "drove the Turks out of Kneževo (Skender-Vakuf, author's note), so they will drive Pantelija out of BORS", and multiple mentions of Bosniaks and BiH in a negative context. The gathered people also carried banners with pictures of war criminals Radovan Karadžić and Ratko Mladić.

These statements, in a way, reminded everyone in the FBiH who supports protests against Dodik that the "veteran population in RS" was, in fact, the backbone of the aggression against BiH.

- Both the government and the opposition, as well as the non-governmental sector in Republika Srpska, have the same stance towards Bosniaks and Bosnia and Herzegovina. These are completely identical views and opinions about BiH and Bosniaks. Whoever comes and whatever policy they represent, their goals are always to have as few Bosniaks as possible. This is a general attitude that will not change regardless of which government comes to power. Unfortunately, most of the non-governmental sector in RS thinks this way too, with rare and honorable exceptions – Salkić told NAP.
