USD officially accepts unification with SDP

Today, at the sessions of the Presidency and the Main Board of the Union of Social Democrats, the Proposal for an agreement on the unification of the Union of Social Democrats with the SDP BiH was considered. The party's Main Board, upon the proposal of the Presidency of the Union of Social Democrats, with an absolute majority (57 FOR, 2 AGAINST, and 3 abstentions) accepted the Proposal for an agreement on the unification of the Union of Social Democrats with the SDP BiH, it was announced from the USD, reports the BiH news agency Patria.

- At the session, it was assessed that it is high time to unite social democracy, as shown by the results of the General Elections in 2014. Social democracy is a socio-political value of Bosnian-Herzegovinian society, which must be preserved, revitalized, and strengthened in order to once again become one of the strongest political options in the country. The unification of social democracy as a key factor in uniting Bosnian-Herzegovinian society is an expression of political responsibility towards the future of BiH. The Union of Social Democrats entered these processes, convinced that other parties of social democratic and civic provenance, from all over Bosnia and Herzegovina, will positively respond to the unification of social democracy in the coming period - it was announced from the Union of Social Democrats.

We remind you that at today's session of the Main Board of the SDP, the unification with the USD was accepted, which will be officially confirmed at the extraordinary congress of this party on December 6. These two parties will operate under the name Social Democratic Party of BiH.
