RS also considering introducing a non-working Sunday

(Patria) - RS Prime Minister Radovan Višković says he has nothing against introducing a non-working Sunday and that it should be discussed.

Višković said that the law provides for five working days a week, and that workers in sectors that cannot function in this way should be adequately compensated for overtime.

- We can refine certain legal solutions, so employers who want to work - let them, but on the basis of the voluntariness of workers who will be paid for it - Višković told reporters in Banja Luka.

President of the RS Trade Union Alliance, Ranka Mišić, says that the proposal to introduce a non-working Sunday in RS has been discussed for five years, and that certain results have been achieved in individual local communities.

- We still have polarized views on this issue - that the introduction of a non-working Sunday is unacceptable, especially in border municipalities, because it will reduce their economic stability - Mišić said.

According to her, the Union believes that it is necessary to introduce a non-working Sunday and that those local communities that have done so have not experienced any particular losses.
