Despite urgencies, Mandić refuses to appoint KCUS Steering Committee members

SARAJEVO, (Patria) – The appointment of two members of the Steering Committee of the University Clinical Center Sarajevo was not on the agenda of the last FBiH Government session, thus disrespecting the decision of the co-founder of KCUS, Sarajevo Canton, which appointed two new members to the Steering Committee.

Since August 22, the appointment of Ismet Gavrankapetanović and Belma Kapo to the KCUS Steering Committee, replacing Jasmin Kapetanović (president) and Dželaludin Junuzović, has been pending. According to information obtained by the Patria News Agency, the text for the public call for the election of the general director is being prepared. Sebija Izetbegović was elected director in early January 2016, and according to the Statute, she can be elected for another consecutive term.

Although the KS Ministry of Health has repeatedly sent urgencies to the Federal Ministry of Health and Minister Vjekoslav Mandić (HDZ BiH), the appointment to the KCUS Steering Committee has not been on the agenda.

Minister Mandić did not respond to Patria's inquiry about when he will delegate the appointment of Gavrankapetanović and Kapo and whether the current KCUS Steering Committee is in a legal vacuum, given that the KS Government has changed two of its members. The KS Government is the largest financier of KCUS with 150 million KM annually.
