Despite diverse offer, no morning rush

The team of the BiH news agency Patria visited the famous Sarajevo market. In the glass display cases, a diverse offer: meat, milk, and other domestic products. Most sellers have had their permanent spot for years. At one of the tables, we met Vezira Alihodžić, an independent dairy producer from Visoko.

As she revealed in our conversation, she has been producing and selling domestic products for 30 years. Before the war, she worked near the Sarajevo City Hall, and since the end of the war, she has been at the market.  

- I have many products. I make young cheese, fatty cheese, sliced cheese, salty and sweet kajmak, butter, ghee, peppers in kajmak. I make everything I know how to make, and I have had my regular customers for a long time – Vezira told us.

Vezira and her family have their own farm with 20 cows in Visoko, but she has not received any incentive funds for her production so far.

- Three families live exclusively from it. I have four sons whom I educated, and it is not always easy. But what can I do? – Vezira said.

Vezira revealed to us that morning rushes are no longer common, so she is a frequent guest at domestic food fairs where she earns more than usual. And in the end, she told us that she will work as long as her health allows.
