This is also BiH: Cadets secure elite qualifying round!

Cadet representatives of Bosnia and Herzegovina have once again managed to qualify for the Elite round of qualifications. Today in Chisinau, they defeated Moldova 1-0 in the second round of the qualifying tournament of group 1.

After an initial probing of strength and play between the two penalty areas, the Moldovans threatened first. It was the 23rd minute when Osipov shot from over 25 meters, but hit the crossbar.

Five minutes later, the BiH team took the lead. Eldin Omerović took a free kick from an angle on the left side, near the touchline. When everyone expected a cross, the Sloboda player shot directly at the goal and deceived the goalkeeper Apostolachi for 1-0.

In the final moments of the first half, the cadet national team of Bosnia and Herzegovina had another excellent opportunity. Milan Savić took the ball from an opponent and entered the Moldovan penalty area from the right side, assisted Šikanjić who shot past Apostolachi, but one of the Moldovan defenders blocked the shot on the goal line. The ball rebounded to Savić who shot over the goal.

Sakib Malkočević's team had another great chance in the 54th minute. The last defender in Moldova missed the ball in midfield, and Marušić ran onto it and went alone towards the opponent's goal. Apostolachi came out in time and prevented the BiH representative from scoring. Three minutes later, Omerović also tried, but the Moldovan goalkeeper was once again up to the task.

Our team continued with attacking play, which gave us another chance in the 71st minute. After an excellent action, Milan Šikanjić shot from the edge of the penalty area, and the ball went wide of the goal. In the 77th minute, Marušić also tried from a long distance, but Apostolachi saved.

Until the end of the match, the BiH U-17 representatives maintained their lead and achieved their second victory in the qualifications and qualified for the Elite Round.

In the second match of the group, Russia also defeated Latvia 1-0.

Russia and BiH are first in the standings with 6 points each, and have secured a place in the next qualifying phase with one round left, while Moldova and Latvia are without points.

The last round of group 1 will be played on Wednesday, September 28, at 3:00 PM, and Bosnia and Herzegovina will play Russia, and Latvia will play Moldova.
