(Patria) - Reactions are coming in to the move by Milorad Dodik, president of Republika Srpska, who ordered the Republika Srpska Ministry of Internal Affairs to arrest and deport Christian Schmidt, the High Representative in BiH, if he comes to Republika Srpska.

Thus, a statement from the spokesperson of the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs has also arrived.

"The threats by Milorad Dodik, president of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian entity of Republika Srpska, aimed at banning the High Representative, Christian Schmidt, an institution established by the Dayton-Paris Peace Agreement, from entering this entity, represent an attack on the constitutional order of Bosnia and Herzegovina, within which freedom of movement must be guaranteed.

This development follows a series of worrying measures recently adopted by this entity, limiting media freedom and undermining the unity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. This is contrary to the efforts of the Bosnian-Herzegovinian authorities to bring the country closer to the European Union, for the benefit of all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

France, as a witness to the Dayton-Paris Agreement, confirms its support for the High Representative and will continue to firmly support the unity and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. France calls on all political forces in Republika Srpska to return to the path of reforms necessary to achieve the membership perspective of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a whole", the statement emphasizes.
